'53 Grad Pays it Forward for Future Generations

Then: In 1949, Harry Robison of Corydon, Iowa, began a life- changing journey at Sioux Falls College. That year, Truman was president, Harvard Law began admitting women, Death of a Salesman was big at the box office, a stamp cost 3 cents and three times as many college degrees were conferred as in 1940 thanks to the G.I. Bill.

Now: Robison’s a retired physician living in Sioux City, Iowa, with his wife Jeanne. Although many things have changed since his Sioux Falls College days, some things on campus – like Jorden Hall and the University’s mission –remain the same.

For this reason, the Robisons annually support the Dr. Firman Early Endowed Scholarship Fund. In March 2009, they met two of the scholarship recipients.

“It’s always interesting to return to USF and see the growth of the campus over the years,” Robison said. “I especially appreciate the administration and faculty for their dedication. We all need to continue our support for the future of USF.”
